Living the mobile lifestyle.
Recently, a growing number of self-directed and peer-based learning opportunities have been spreading through the net. The most popular of these self-education opportunities seems to be focused on business skills. Here are three opportunities to acquire the business skills of an MBA grad without actually enrolling in school (or paying a dime in tuition).

1. The Personal MBA. This growing site recommends a series of business books that “students” must read to acquire the necessary knowledge. They also have a community of learners and other resources.

2. MBAvid. This relatively new website offers hundreds of streaming videos on business-related topics. Want to watch instruction on finance, marketing, starting a buisness, or dozens of other topics? You’ll find it there.

3. The Alternative MBA. Best-selling business author Seth Godin offers an internship program for aspiring professionals. Work an internship in his New York offices for six months and you’ll finish with extensive hands-on knowledge and a recommendation letter from a rather impressive source. Registration is now closed, but he may be open to creating a new session in the future.

While none of these options give students an actual MBA degree, they definitely stand as a testament to the evolving nature of education. Hopefully the coming years will bring even more self-education opportunities, both in the MBA realm and for other subjects.
