Recently, LearnCentral.org opened it’s virtual doors to the public. This new social learning network will allow people to connect with other thinkers throughout the globe, create groups of peers, meet in real-time, and share educational resources.
Here’s how LearnCentral describes themselves:
“More than a social network or a learning community, this open environment enables those who are passionate about teaching and learning to improve their education experiences and inspire others do the same. In addition to social networking tools that allow you to connect with others and share content and best practices, LearnCentral gives you the tools to meet in real-time virtual rooms and even hold and attend events.”
The site is currently in “beta” testing, so it’s a bit sparse. But, it looks like it’s shaping up to be a useful resource. Perhaps one day soon we’ll make a group for self-educators.
